We are thrilled once again to be back at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) from November 28 to December 2, 2022, this year in Orlando, Florida, to share how we are supporting our armed forces, by bringing the best in gaming, exercising, modeling, and simulation (GEMS) capabilities to help them analyze, experiment, and train more safely and effectively than ever before.
Through the power of the hyperscale Microsoft Azure, Microsoft and our robust partner ecosystem are developing innovative capabilities to unlock new opportunities for mission leaders to transform data into action. Our focus on GEMS is meant to enable new levels of co-reasoning between humans and machines across physical and virtual worlds. To do so, Microsoft enables rapid world-scale data ingestion and insight generation and provides the flexibility and adaptability needed to solve specific objectives.
Microsoft Federal brings the mission understanding, engineering expertise, and leading technology to drive outcomes in a new era of government.
By bringing the physical world to a digital scale, leveraging the power of digital twins and AI services to build solutions at the planetary scale, and powering autonomous efforts to help garner new insights and analysis, we are helping mission leaders keep pace with the rapidly evolving world.
Whether you’re developing serious gaming or simulations to expedite the use of autonomous assets, Microsoft solutions are modular and adaptable to mission needs. This means you can build, train, and deploy AI models designed for specific mission objectiveshelping drive insights that enable critical decisions when and where they’re needed. Distributed training solutions support remote engagements through the cloud, all secured at the highest classification levels.
These capabilities are key to driving time-to-value for mission leaders. Microsoft’s GEMS solutions allow for real-time interactions, iteration, and adaptability, reducing the gap between simulations and the real world. Repeatable, replicable simulations reduce cold starts and help national security planners quickly launch and adjust simulations as global circumstances change. And with a rich suite of trusted productivity and collaboration tools, strategic gaming analysts can capture insights from participants across a host of data sources including text and voice data to drive even greater understanding and insights.
A key driver for innovation is collaboration. Microsoft believes strongly in fostering collaboration across the industry to help accelerate the development of new capabilities for our shared national security customers. Joining Microsoft at I/ITSEC this year are several leading defense and gaming companies that are leveraging the power of Azure to expand services and functionality for defense agencies. Below are just a handful of the more than dozen partners that are working with Microsoft and will be demonstrating new capabilities at this year’s conference:
Microsoft will also join several industry partners to support the National Training and Simulation Association’s Multi-Verse Training Environment (MVTE). The MVTE will demonstrate an end-to-end immersive solution that leverages innovative technologies to collapse space and time and deliver context and content simultaneously, thus providing for faster and more effective training.
The MVTE technologies allow non-technical instructors, users, and decision-makers to have full control and create custom training scenarios for multiplayer simulations and deploy those scenarios to multiple users connected to a network. Scenarios can be created through a no-code UX and UI thanks to centralized access to 3D content in Azure and can be streamed with low latency thanks to remote rendering on edge servers (Azure Stack Edge) and an overarching 5G network. We invite you to join us at I/ITSEC in booth #1969 to learn more about how we are using GEMS to create immersive experiences for the brave men and women who keep us safe. It is our privilege to serve them and to provide them with safer, cheaper, and more effective opportunities to train.
